Maggie Cao

Maggie Cao has exhibited nationally with Oil Painters of America and American Impressionists Society, and won awards at regional plein air painting events.  She was born in China and showed a love of drawing at a young age.  She came to the U.S. at 1998 and earned a Master’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina.  Her art education started with drawing classes in China, and continued with oil painting classes at the Art Center of Johns Hopkins University, MICA, and multiple workshops with nationally known artists.  She currently shows her paintings at McBride Gallery in Annapolis, MD.

Here are the colors I’m currently using for your reference:
(Basically a warm and cool version of each primary color plus some secondary colors and earth tones)
Titanium white
Cadmium lemon
Cadmium yellow light
Yellow ochre light
Cadmium red light
Burnt sienna
Alizarin crimson
Permanent violet
Ultramarine blue
Manganese blue hue
Viridian
Raw umber
Ivory black (optional)
Brushes:
I personally like long flats, but bring whatever brushes you are comfortable using.
Please also bring a couple of palette knives for mixing colors.
