Rita’s morning class alternates between painting energetic still life one week and lively figures in the landscape the following week. The emphasis is always on big shapes, simple values, bold brushwork, and rich color. Blues and greens will get particular attention as we move toward the summer months. As always, Rita will sneak in important concepts you wish you’d learned in art school.
The class environment is flexible and friendly. Rita provides a variety of interesting things to paint, but students are welcome to use their own reference materials or work on personal on-going projects.
