Your own palette of artist quality colours should be fine.

My palette includes mostly  warm and cool versions of the primaries plus some earth colours and a dark. I use mostly Holbein but for my earth colours I prefer Winsor Newton. Cadmium yellow light ( or lemon yellow ), yellow ochre, Indian yellow, Cadmium red light, permanent Rose, Cerulean, Cobalt, Ultramarine deep, raw sienna, burnt sienna  indigo, neutral tint.

I also keep white gouache on hand to reclaim whites.

Also you should have a rag or sponge to wipe and control liquid load on your brush, paper towels and a variety of brushes including a synthetic small round detail brush, several sizes of larger soft natural hair or natural/synthetic blend rounds such as # 8, 12, 16. Also a large mop or 1” flat.

My own preference in brushes is Silver Black Velvet ( squirrel and synthetic blend ).

Also a hair dryer, a grey kneaded eraser, a 2B  pencil.

For watercolour paper tooth  I suggest Rough or CP

( cold pressed )

Paper should be 140 pound 100% cotton

Saunders Waterford, Arches and Fabriano are all good brands

I suggest you take cellphone shots of the photos provided and have it displayed as reference on your phone while you render with me on Zoom. Pencil outline templates for the paintings will be provided.

For each class I will explain in advance the palette, the painting plan and wash sequence. Then demonstrate and wait while you paint that sequence.
